RenewByte
Our Enquiry Process

How RenewByte Works

From your initial enquiry to discussing possible collection arrangements, we aim to make the process of exploring IT equipment reuse and recycling straightforward and transparent.

Submit a Collection Enquiry

UK-wide enquiries welcome. Collection availability and equipment acceptance are subject to confirmation.

Four Simple Steps

Every enquiry is reviewed individually. Submitting an enquiry does not automatically confirm that equipment can be accepted or collected.

01

Submit Your Enquiry

Tell us what equipment you have, including device types, quantities, condition and location.

02

We Review Your Equipment

We consider the equipment details, potential reuse options, data security requirements and whether suitable arrangements are available.

03

Discuss Available Options

We contact you to discuss equipment acceptance, any relevant conditions and possible collection arrangements.

04

Agree the Next Steps

Before any equipment transfer, the relevant parties agree on arrangements, responsibilities and appropriate data handling.

What Information Should You Provide?

Providing accurate equipment information helps us review your enquiry and identify any questions before arrangements are discussed.

Prepare an Equipment List

Include the device type, manufacturer, model and approximate quantities where possible.

Describe Device Condition

Tell us whether devices are working, faulty, incomplete or affected by battery damage.

Identify Data Requirements

Let us know whether equipment contains business, personal or other sensitive information.

Check Ownership and Restrictions

Confirm that your organisation is authorised to transfer the devices and identify any management or account locks.

Data Security Before Equipment Transfer

Laptops, desktop computers, phones and tablets can contain confidential business information, personal data and saved credentials.

Before transferring devices, organisations should identify their data protection requirements and agree suitable data sanitisation arrangements.

RenewByte is developing an in-house Linux-based data erasure process. We do not currently claim certification for this developing process.

Organisation-managed devices may also need to be removed from management systems or released from activation restrictions by authorised owners.

Reuse, Refurbishment or Recycling?

RenewByte aims to assess suitable equipment for potential reuse or refurbishment before considering recycling.

Devices may require repairs, replacement parts or other preparation before they can be reused.

Equipment that is unsuitable for reuse may require responsible recycling through appropriate arrangements.
